According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method (100) for evaluating Coccinia indica and Prosopis cineraria leaf extracts in psoriasis management involves collecting fresh leaves (102) from natural sources, followed by authentication (104) through a recognized taxonomic authority. The authenticated leaves are washed, shade-dried, pulverized into uniform powder, and stored under suitable conditions (106). The powdered material is subjected to solvent-based Soxhlet extraction (108). The obtained extracts undergo preliminary qualitative phytochemical screening (110). The extracts are then formulated individually or in combination for topical application (112). Acute dermal toxicity tests (114) are performed to establish safety. Psoriasis is induced in experimental models using an imiquimod-induced psoriasis model (116), followed by application of the test formulation (118) and evaluation of disease severity using PASI scoring. Skin tissues are excised (120) for histopathological examination and immunohistochemical analysis (122). Finally, clinical, histological, and immunohistochemical data are interpreted (124) to determine therapeutic efficacy."
