MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621008137 A) filed by Ve Commercial Vehicles Ltd., Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on Jan. 28, for 'a method for manufacturing high-thickness fiber-reinforced polymer composite components.'
Inventor(s) include Rubal Verma; Gopi Kumar; and Prof. Shailesh I Kundalwal.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (100) for manufacturing high-thickness fiber-reinforced polymer composite components. Further, method (100) comprises preparing an epoxy resin and hardener mixture in a pre-determined stoichiometric ratio, subjecting epoxy resin and hardener mixture to vacuum degassing in a desiccator prior to infusion to remove entrapped air and volatile constituents, cutting dry glass fiber reinforcements according to a predefined component geometry, arranging dry glass fiber reinforcements into a plurality of sub-stacks, each sub-stack having a thickness in range of 3 mm to 6 mm, and having fibers oriented at 0, 45, and 90 and stacking plurality of sub-stacks to form laminate having total thickness greater than 15 mm, enclosing stacked laminate within a sealed vacuum bag, performing staged vacuum resin infusion, wherein degassed resin is infused sequentially into each sub-stack to ensure uniform impregnation through laminate thickness, compacting infused laminate under vacuum and curing compacted laminate to obtain high-thickness composite."
