MUMBAI, India, Jan. 3 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511102399 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 24, 2025, for 'a method for personalized methylation support based on genetic polymorphisms.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Polu Picheswara Rao; and Dr. Shubham Mishra.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a method for personalized methylation support based on an individual's genetic profile. It integrates genetic data obtained from DNA testing services and analyzes genetic polymorphisms in key enzymes involved in the methylation pathway, such as MTHFR, COMT, MTR, and CBS. Based on the identified genetic variants, the method recommends optimized forms and doses of methylation-supporting nutrients like bioactive folate, vitamin B12, and other essential vitamins and minerals. The system adapts to changes in the user's health, clinical markers, and feedback, ensuring that the supplement recommendations are continuously refined for maximum efficacy. This personalized approach promotes health optimization, reduces the risk of adverse effects from generic supplements, and enhances long-term well-being by addressing the unique genetic needs of each user."
