MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521111736 A) filed by Ranjeet Deshmukh Dental College & Research Centre; and Karemore, Tapasya V, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Nov. 15, 2025, for 'a method for preparing oral topical moringa gel.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a method for preparing oral topical moringa gel. The method based mucoadhesive gel for the management of oral burning sensation associated with oral mucosal disorders such as Oral Submucous Fibrosis (OSMF) and Burning Mouth Syndrome (BMS). The method comprises washing 400 g of Moringa oleifera leaves, shade-drying, boiling with 3200 g of distilled water to one-eighth volume, filtering, and diluting with 9.5 kg of distilled water. Carbopol polymer is incorporated and allowed to swell, followed by addition of Triethanolamine (TEA) to achieve a pH of 6.5-7.0 and gel-like consistency. Phenoxyethanol is added as a preservative to yield a clear, stable formulation. The resulting 4% Moringa gel exhibits anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and wound-healing properties, providing a safe, natural, and economical alternative to corticosteroid-based agents. When applied thrice daily, it delivers symptomatic relief and promotes mucosal healing without adverse effects."
