MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411028105 A) filed by Lingaya's Vidyapeeth, Faridabad, Haryana, on April 5, 2024, for 'a method of preparation of a quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle using nano-precipitation.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Pramod Kumar Sharma; Ms. Mahima; Mr. Manish Kumar; and Mr. Dharmendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle, comprising a 25 mg quercetin, a 25mg sago starch, a 50ml basic solution comprising and a 0.1 M Hydrochloric Acid. The basic solution comprises Sodium Hydroxide, urea and water (H2O). A method (100) or preparation of quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle comprising preparation of a basic solution containing Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), urea and water (H2O) in a ratio of 1:1:98. Further, dissolving a quercetin in the prepared basic solution. Further, preparation of an acidic solution of 0.1 M Hydrochloric Acid (HCl). Further, dropwise addition of 55ml of the acidic solution into 25ml of the prepared basic solution at continuous stirring of 1000 rpm under the ambient temperature to produce the quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle. Further, washing of the quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle with 35% ethanol. Further, centrifugation of the washed quercetin-loaded starch nanoparticle at 8000 rpm for 4 minutes. Further, washing of the centrifuged nanoparticles with deionized water five times."
