MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441010149 A) filed by N. Pongali Sathya Prabu; and P. Rohini, Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'a method to induce nematic mesophase in hydrogen bond liquid crystals.'

Inventor(s) include N. Pongali Sathya Prabu; and P. Rohini.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An innovative method to induce the desired nematic mesophase in hydrogen bond liquid crystalline binary mixtures is disclosed. Conventional method of obtaining the liquid crystalline complexes involves choice of chemical ingredient and the synthetic route as the prime factors. In the proposed method choice of liquid crystalline precursor is sufficient with the variation in the preparation through different molar ratios. Nematic mesophase prevails throughout the prepared nine binary mixtures which is not the case in the one of the precursors utilized in achieving the binary mixtures. This method is tested with different investigation techniques for the confirmation of the inducement of Nematic mesophase."
