MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013931 A) filed by National Institute Of Pharmaceutical Education And Research, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 27, 2024, for 'a novel and efficient stereoselective process for drug-relevant spiro-indolylcyanocyclopropylaryls.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a novel synthetic route and preparation of drug-relevant skeleton, bioactive molecular motif, skeletons present in the anti-viral and anti-bacterial agents. The present invention relates to an efficient process for the preparation of drugs or bioactive compounds key intermediates, cyanocyclopropylaryl (6) skeleton and Spiro-indolylcyanocyclopropylaryls (7) using a new [2+1]-reaction of arylidene oxindole and nitrile-stabilized quaternary ammonium ylide, the substrates are easily accessible, and method catalysed by a Lewis acid."
