MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631051542 A) filed by Dr. Mossaraf Hossain, Dinhata, West Bengal, on April 22, for 'a novel eco-friendly and sustainable method for the preparation of imidazole n-oxide derivatives using bovine serum albumin as a biocatalyst.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A novel, eco-friendly and sustainable method for the preparation of imidazole N-oxide derivatives using bovine serum albumin as a biocatalyst ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a novel eco-friendly and sustainable method using Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as biocatalyst for the synthesis of imidazole N-oxides comprising 1 equivalent of monoxime, 1 equivalent of aromatic aldehydes, and 1 equivalent of ammonium acetate, or hydroxylamine hydrochloride, or amines taken in the presence of (40-60) mg BSA in 5 mL of a mixture of deionized water-ethanol solvents in a 4:6 ratio. The mixture was put in the incubator shaker and was shaken at (40-80) C for (3-8)hrs. The synthesized compounds are found to be very good biologically active compounds."
