MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202527074019 A) filed by Oasicare Aps, Kobenhavn, Denmark, on Aug. 4, for 'a perineum damage-reducing device and a method for reducing damage during vaginal child delivery.'

Inventor(s) include Ibsen, Ditte Marie Fog; and Sand, Julia.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A perineum damage-reducing device for reducing damage during vaginal child delivery is disclosed. It is configured to be positioned on an outside of a female body on a perineum. Said device comprises; a second part being formed by a sheet of flexible material, an inner surface being configured to be in contact with surfaces of the female body, an outer surface opposite to said inner surface, at least one attachment element, preferably an adhesive, arranged at the inner surface configured for attachment to the perineum, and two arms and/or two legs being adapted to extend away from the second part along the perineum, so as to support said perineum during vaginal childbirth. A method for reducing damage during vaginal child delivery is also disclosed."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 14, 2023, under International application No.PCT/DK2023/050277.
