MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441037460 A) filed by Vaya Life Private Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 13, 2024, for 'a pressure cooker lid with whistle detection assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Vashist Vasanthakumar; Balaji Sankaranarayan; Premanand Jayakumar; and Gobinath VP.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a pressure cooker designed with a special type of lid that can count the number of whistles accurately. It comprises of the following subassemblies: pressure regulator (200), Lid sub-components (202), Body (203), handle assemblies (201), wherein the handle consists of Pressure regulator (405), Hall-effect sensor (403), Magnet (404), Lid with Gasket (300), Display unit (401) with buttons PCB Board (402), Battery (301), Buzzer (400) and the whistle count sensing operation comprises of 2 modes: whistle mode and Timer mode. The user sets the number of whistles or cooking time required using the display (201) buttons. Whenever the Pressure regulator (405) moves, the magnet (404) moves and the sensor (403) gets the signal. The processor (402) converts the signal to whistle counts. Once the Preset whistle value is reached, the processor (402) automatically triggers the Buzzer (400) indication, informing the user of completion."
