According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a process for preparing a rehydration pad for arthritis pain relief. The process includes selecting fresh Brassica oleracea leaves, trimming the midrib, washing, surface sterilizing, blanching, and roller-pressing to obtain flat leaves, followed by freeze-drying to form dried leaf material. A polyherbal infusion is prepared using extracts of Curcuma longa, Moringa oleifera, Calendula officinalis, and Azadirachta indica, along with Aloe barbadensis gel and Mentha arvensis distillate dissolved in a solvent system of sterile distilled water, ethanol, and glycerin with controlled pH and viscosity. The dried leaves are vacuum-impregnated with the infusion, air-dried, and coated with chitosan by spray encapsulation. The encapsulated leaves are laminated into a multilayer pad comprising a PLA outer layer, PVA hydro-activation matrix, and hydrocolloid or botanical gum adhesive border. The pad is sterilized and packaged in nitrogen-flushed moisture-barrier PET pouches as single-use units, with storage at ambient conditions."
