MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421021169 A) filed by Panasonic Life Solutions India Pvt. Ltd., Thane, Maharashtra, on March 20, 2024, for 'a radiation detection device for street light.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In an embodiment of the present disclosure a radiation detection device (106) is disclosed. The radiation detection device (106) is mounted on a streetlight (100). 5 The radiation detection device (106) comprises a radiation detector (202), data processing unit (204) and communication unit (206). The radiation detector (202) is configured to detect radiation emitted from a plurality of sources in a predefined area. The data processing unit (204) is connected to the radiation detector (202) and configured to analyse the radiation levels detected by radiation 10 detector (202) and compare the radiation levels with a predefined threshold. Communication unit (206) is connected to the data processing unit (204). Communication unit (206) is configured to transmit analysed radiation data to a remote monitoring system (208) and alert the remote monitoring system (208) if the radiation level is above the threshold value."
