MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431005767 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Patna, Bihar, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'a real-time controller testing and development framework for power system applications.'

Inventor(s) include Kundan Kumar; Abhineet Prakash; and S. K. Parida.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a real time controller testing and development framework (100) to test a controller in a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) system. The testing framework (100) comprises a host PC (102), a real time simulator (OPAL-RT) (104) configured to execute a virtual plant received from the host PC (102), a digital signal processor (DSP) based controller (106) configured to receive wide area signals from the real time simulator (OPAL-RT) (104) and transmit feedback signal to the real time simulator (OPAL-RT) (102) to determine operation of the real time simulator (OPAL-RT) (102) and a plurality of connecting wires, to facilitate connection between the real time simulator (OPAL-RT) (104) and the digital signal processor (DSP) based controller (106). Herein, the DSP based controller (106) is simulated by the host PC (102) and output of the DSP based controller (106) is transmitted to the real time simulator (OPAL-RT)."
