MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421023199 A) filed by G. H. Raisoni College Of Engineering; and G. H. R. Labs And Research Centre, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on March 24, 2024, for 'a real-time traffic management system for prioritizing emergency vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Chourasia, Harshita; Bhagwat, Anirudh; and Madankar, Mangala.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to a real-time traffic management system for prioritizing emergency vehicles. in urban areas, traffic congestion poses significant challenges to emergency vehicle response times. This invention proposes a solution integrating real-time traffic analysis and AI-based prioritization to address this issue. the system architecture, with 101 representing the continuous stream of traffic data collected from various sources. The data is processed using a Raspberry Pi 4 B+ (102) to analyze select regions of interest (103) and build traffic simulation models (104). Resulting traffic analysis is transmitted to emergency services (105), facilitating informed decision-making. Emergency vehicles are dynamically rerouted (106) to less congested routes, optimizing response times. This integration of advanced technologies enhances public safety by mitigating delays in emergency responses, potentially saving lives in congested urban environments."
