MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018251 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on March 13, 2024, for 'a reinforcement structure for a hood striker assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Vinay Shelke; and Lakshay Deep Juneja.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present subject matter discloses a reinforcement structure (402) for a hood striker assembly. The reinforcement structure (402) includes a front portion (404), a rear portion (406) with an uplifted surface (406a), and a plurality of hump structures (408) provided on the front portion (404) and the uplifted surface (406a) of the rear portion (406), configured to receive a striker rod. The plurality of double-hump structures (408) provides a reinforcement stiffness to the hood striker assembly when a hood is slammed on the vehicle body. The reinforcement structure (402) includes a step structure (410) at each side of the reinforcement structure (402) extending from the front portion (404) to the rear portion (406) for providing a lateral stiffness and a sectional rigidity to the reinforcement structure (402)."
