MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441021544 A) filed by Prakash G R; and Suparva Harogolige Padmanabha, Shivamogga, Karnataka, on March 21, 2024, for 'a rotary wheel for dehusking machines to peel areca nut and nutmeg of variable size.'

Inventor(s) include Prakash G R; and Suparva Harogolige Padmanabha.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to the field of agricultural machineries and its accessories. More specifically, the present invention provides a rotary wheel for dehusking machine in relation to Nut more particularly to areca nut/betel nut and nutmeg/JAKAI Natural Spice. The rotary wheel design is very specific to areca nut and nutmeg fruit dehusker. The circular rim has liner mount and groves in specific pattern as shown in the, 2 and 3.A part of the rim consist of blades having numerous teeth and affix to the hardware through four bolts. The present invention of rotary wheel avoids grove and damage over the body of areca-nut and nutmeg. The invention is design to peel areca nut and nutmeg of any size and much better compared to others in the market."
