MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019299 A) filed by Small Arms Factory, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'a scragging system.'
Inventor(s) include Tara Chandra.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to the scragging system and method to cock the weapon multiple times before doing actual firing so that the functioning of weapon becomes smooth before actual firing. This helps in achieving required rate of fire in the weapon. The mechanism to cock the weapon multiple times to smoothen the functioning of the weapon to achieve required rate of fire without actually firing the weapon."
