MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441010036 A) filed by TVS Motor Company Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'a seat assembly for a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Manikandan Sabapathi; Shathick Basha Jeelani; Aromal Viswanadhan; Prajwal Korakodu Puttaswamygowda; and Ravisankar Rajamani.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Aspects of the present invention pertain to a seat assembly (200) for a vehicle (100). A rider seat (155) is securely mounted on the rear sub-frame (101D) of the vehicle (100). The rider seat (155) is specifically equipped with a set of receiving members (156). Additionally, a pillion seat (160) is mounted on the rider seat (155) and a pillion handle (190). The rider seat (155) is securely fastened onto the rear sub-frame (101D), and it is designed to receive the plurality of insert members (161) from the pillion seat (160) into the corresponding receiving members (156). Simultaneously, the lock (191) is configured to receive the locking member (162) of the pillion seat (160), establishing an interferential interface. This interface involves the pillion handle (190), the rider seat (155), and the pillion seat (160), contributing to the overall stability and functionality of the seat assembly within the vehicle (100)."
