MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411027955 A) filed by IIT Ropar-Technology And Innovation Foundation, Rupnagar, Punjab, on April 4, 2024, for 'a semi-automatic seed sowing apparatus.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a semi-automatic apparatus for sowing seed of different sizes at a time. The seeds are poured into a plurality of seed hoppers (114a-114b). Below the plurality of seed hoppers (114a-114b), there is a plurality of seed sowing disc shaft (110a-110b) and a plurality of seed sowing disc (112a-112b) are present which is rotated by a plurality of sprocket (108a-108b) and a drive shaft (106). The plurality of sprocket (108a-108b) and the drive shaft (106) gets power as the seeder machine is pulled by the operator through the plurality of wheels (104a-104c). The present invention has a plurality of adjustable tyne (116a-116n) that enables to sow seed at varying depth according to requirement. The present invention is cost efficient, user friendly and easy to operate with minimum training."
