MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641018828 A) filed by Satheesh Kumar S; Nehru Institute Of Technology; Dr. P. Vijayakumar; Jack Jeeva S; Ravichandran K S; and Udhaya Selvam S, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 19, for 'a smart folding vtol jet with integrated 6-axis manipulator intervention.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. P. Vijayakumar; Jack Jeeva S; Ravichandran K S; and Udhaya Selvam S.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a hybrid tactical jet platform designed for physical intervention and asset recovery. The Jet integrates a VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing)-capable propulsion system with a heavy-duty 6-Axis Manipulator stowed in the aircraft's ventral bay and featuring variable-geometry folding wings for optimized urban mobility. By utilizing a specialized Flight-Manipulator Coordination Unit (FMCU), the system autonomously compensates for aerodynamic and gravitational shifts during mechanical tasks. The VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) provides a high-speed solution for rescue missions, defense-sector recovery, and aeronautical maintenance, enabling precise mechanical work in hazardous environments without the need for human ground presence or landing."
