MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641048007 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 15, for 'a smart lighting system for emergency detection and roadway management.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a smart street lighting system (100) includes a sensor module (102) to detect audio data of a roadway region and a control unit (202) operatively coupled to the sensor module (102), wherein the control unit (202) comprises a processor (302) and a memory (304) storing instructions that, when executed by the processor (302), cause the control unit (202) to receive the audio data from the sensor module (102), determine an emergency frequency pattern from the received audio data by isolating frequencies exceeding a predefined amplitude threshold and transmit a control signal to an external receiving node based on the determined emergency frequency pattern."
