MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024458 A) filed by Dr. T. Mariprasath; and Dr. M. S. Priyadarshini, Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, on March 2, for 'a solar photovoltaic (spv) battery charging system for electric vehicles and its method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. T. Mariprasath; Dr. Kumar Reddy Cheepati; and Sri. K. Kalyan Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a solar photovoltaic (SPV) battery charging system (100) for electric vehicles and a method thereof. The system (100) includes an input sensing unit (102) interfaced with a solar photovoltaic panel (102a) to generate a scaled panel current and panel voltage; a signal conditioning unit (104) including operational amplifiers (104a) converts the sensed signals into panel current and panel voltage feedback signal; a battery interface (106) with a potential transformer (106a) provides a battery voltage feedback signal to a control unit (108), wherein the control unit monitors solar and battery parameters and generates control signals for gate driver units (110) using high-voltage half-bridge driver ICs (110a); a power switching unit (112), comprising MOSFETs (112a), inductors, diodes, and snubber capacitors (112b), regulates battery charging using an MPPT-based strategy; and a central computing device (114) ensures safe operation by enabling switching only upon valid battery detection, thereby improving efficiency, reliability, and battery life."
