MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087857 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a storage system for wireless charging of an electronic device in a vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A storage system (100) for wireless charging of an electronic device (300) in a vehicle is disclosed. The system (100) includes a frame (110), a charging unit (120), a profile (130), a holder (140), and a pin (150). The frame is provisioned in a central console (200) of the vehicle. The charging unit is securely mounted in the frame. The profile is attached to a lower portion (Lw) of the charging unit. The holder is slidably mounted on the frame and is configured to hold the electronic device and is displaceable between an unlocked position (140up) and a locked position (140lp), relative to the charging unit. The pin is attached to the holder and is configured to be engageable with the profile to lock and unlock the holder. The system allows better space utilization in the central console with provision of precisely positioning and charging of the electronic device."
