MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521121412 A) filed by Ramdeobaba University; Shri Ramdeobaba College Of Engineering And Management; Sonkhaskar, Yeshwant M; and Patrale, Aniket Jayant, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Dec. 3, 2025, for 'a swash plate-based reciprocating piston air pump.'
Inventor(s) include Sonkhaskar, Yeshwant M.; and Patrale, Aniket Jayant.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a swash plate-based reciprocating piston air pump (100) designed to deliver smooth, efficient, and continuous air compression. The pump (100) comprises a cylinder (101) housing multiple pistons (102), each fitted with a return spring (108) and a contact ball (103) interfacing with a swash plate (112) mounted at an inclined angle on an upper shaft (113) supported by a lower shaft (109) and bearings (111). A pin (110) holds the swash plate (112) at the desired angle and connects the upper shaft (113) and the lower shaft (109), ensuring synchronized rotation and angular stability of the swash mechanism. The cylinder cover (107) secures the pistons, while O-rings (104) provide airtight sealing. Additionally, the cylinder cover (107) constrains the motion of the return spring (108) by supporting it at the base, thereby maintaining proper piston alignment during reciprocation. One-way inlet and outlet valves (105) regulate airflow, ensuring continuous one-way delivery. The upper shaft (113) is rotated manually via a handle (115) or automatically via a motor, optionally powered by conventional or renewable energy sources."
