MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087068 A) filed by Shoolini University Of Biotechnology And Management Sciences, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Dec. 20, 2023, for 'a synergistic bio-fabricated copper oxide green-nanoparticle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces a bio-fabricated method for copper oxide green-nanoparticles (CuO-NPs), synergistically incorporating them with Colebrookea oppositifolia roots and leaves extracts, along with n-butanol fractions. These green nanoparticles showcase robust antimicrobial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties, confirmed by XRD analysis revealing a lower crystalline structure. Furthermore, the n-butanol fraction exhibits potent antimicrobial and antifungal activity, particularly against P. aeruginosa, R. necatrix, and F. oxysporum. In overall, the present invention stands out for its inventive synthesis approach, leveraging the plant rich phytochemical profile, and underscores CuO-NP potential in green nanotechnology for antimicrobial and antioxidant applications."
