MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321079294 A) filed by Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Nov. 22, 2023, for 'a system and a method for safeguarding over-the-air (ota) operations and enhancing functionality in vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Gurazada, Vigneswara Venkata Satya Naveen; Shaik Ayesha Begam; and Maddala Sai Sarat Jotsna.
The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system for safeguarding Over-the-Air (OTA) operations in vehicles (100) and enhancing functionality in vehicles (100) comprises the OTA-update transmission module (102) configured to initiate OTA updates from an OEM server (102a) to the vehicle (A). The data segmentation module (104) segments the OTA-update data into data-packets, which are then encrypted by the encryption module (106). The encrypted data-packets are processed by the tangle module (108) and transmitted over a network-channel (C). The data-packets are verified at specified nodes (110a) on the network-channel by the packet verification module (110), while the packet integration module (112) integrates the data-packets at integration layers (112a) to generate an integrated OTA-update data package. The receiving module (114) receives this package through at least one ECU (B) in the vehicle (A). The decryption module (116) then decrypts the package, and the OTA-update execution module (118) installs and executes the decrypted integrated OTA-update data package data."
