MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511125310 A) filed by Graphic Era Deemed To Be University, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'a system and method for accrual anomaly-based credit risk assessment.'

Inventor(s) include Rupa Khanna Malhotra.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A computerized system and method for credit risk assessment based on accrual anomaly detection is disclosed. The invention operates within the technical field of financial analytics and risk management, comprising a data acquisition module that collects and preprocesses structured financial data including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, and a calculation engine that computes a total accrual metric defined as net income minus cash flow from operations. An accrual anomaly detection engine then applies statistical models and machine learning algorithms, including logistic regression and random forest, to generate anomaly scores. These scores are integrated with conventional credit risk metrics via a risk scoring module to form a composite credit risk score, which is presented to users in real time through an interactive dashboard interface with drill-down visualization capabilities."
