MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050593 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 21, for 'a system and method for ai-based radiological image interpretation and diagnostic support.'
Inventor(s) include Sasidharan S; Premkumar U; Poongodi V; Vasanthapriya J; Ram Shankar; Melba Jesurani A; Ashika Fathima. B; Menmozhi T; Jebin Sherley; and Pugazhendhi S.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for AI-Based Radiological Image Interpretation and Diagnostic Support This disclosure pertains to a system and method for hybrid physics-integrated, context-aware, and elucidative radiological image interpretation and diagnostic assistance. The system has an interface for acquiring imaging data, a pre-processing module, and a processor that runs a hybrid diagnostic fusion engine that uses both physics-based imaging constraints and computational analysis to make reliable diagnostic outputs. The system also has a contextual calibration module that changes outputs based on patient-specific and device-specific parameters, and an explainable diagnostic mapping module that makes results easy to understand. A module for detecting and resolving disagreements between humans and AI improves the reliability of diagnostics, and a traceability ledger makes sure that diagnostic processes are safely recorded so that they can be audited. To make the system work in real time and on a larger scale, it is also connected to edge-cloud processing and clinical workflow synchronization. The system that has been made public offers better accuracy, transparency, and adaptability, making it a more advanced technical solution for radiological diagnostic support."
