MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050365 A) filed by Tesp Labs Private Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on April 20, for 'a system and method for automated device data model generation in edge gateways.'

Inventor(s) include M, Thejas; Prabhakaran, Prajith; and A, Mohamed Sadakkathulla.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system (100) and method (200) for automated generation and deployment of device data models in edge gateway environments. An edge gateway device (102), comprising a processor, memory, and communication interface, detects a connected hardware device (104) and queries a common data model database (106) for a matching model. Upon absence, a model service server (108), comprising a processor (108-2) and memory (108-4), activates an AI agent module to retrieve device-related information from a filtered knowledge repository (112) and a master knowledge repository (110) implemented as a vector database. Unstructured documentation is processed using a dynamic context generation architecture to extract parameters and generate a canonical data model, which is mapped to a system-specific device data model. The model is validated using a simulated environment and deployed to configure communication parameters of the edge gateway device (102), enabling protocol-compliant communication with the hardware device (104)."
