MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441006258 A) filed by Ather Energy Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a system and method for estimating charging time of a battery.'

Inventor(s) include Goyal, Yash; Vasudevan, Hari; Venkateswaran, Shivaram Nellayi; Bhide, Ranjith S; BV, Adarsha; Ankali, Rajashekhar Siddappa; Pawar, Suraj; and Manocha, Sarthak.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A method (800) method for estimating a charging time of a battery (112) of an electric vehicle (EV) (110) is disclosed. The method includes receiving a plurality of initial battery parameters. Further, the method includes simulating, using a first virtual twin model (312-1), a plurality of characteristics of the battery (112) thus mimicking a behavior of the battery (112). Furthermore, the method includes simulating, using a second virtual twin model (312-2), a plurality of characteristics of a charging controller thus, mimicking a behavior of the charging controller in the digital environment. Furthermore, the method includes estimating the charging time of the battery (112) based on the simulation, wherein the charging time corresponds to one or more state-of-charges."
