MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024492 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 2, for 'a system and method for smart hospital resource and workflow optimization.'
Inventor(s) include Logeswari J; Dr. Meyyammai C. T.; Victor Devasirvadham; and Durga B.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for Smart Hospital Resource and Workflow Optimization The present disclosure relates to a system and method for optimizing hospital resources and workflows through real-time telemetry acquisition, dynamic digital twin simulation, and autonomous infrastructure orchestration. The system has at least one processor that works with memory, a telemetry acquisition module that gathers operational data from hospital devices like beds, ventilators, RFID trackers, environmental sensors, and wearable monitors, a digital twin simulation engine that makes a constantly updated computational model of hospital resources, and an AI-based prediction engine that finds workflow bottlenecks and resource shortages. An autonomous resource orchestration controller creates executable control signals that change the schedules for beds, ventilators, staff, and operating rooms in real time. For emergency triage, a bio-priority index is calculated, and an energy-aware optimization module cuts down on the power used by equipment. Reinforcement learning mechanisms constantly improve allocation strategies. This makes it possible to optimize hospitals in a closed loop with hardware integration, resulting in measurable improvements in efficiency and response time."
