MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431006566 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a system for capping a mouth of a torpedo ladle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure discloses a system (1) for capping a mouth of a torpedo ladle (2). The system consists of a support frame (10), the support frame may be mounted on a torpedo ladle 5 (2) at either ends. The support frame being structured to rotatably support the torpedo ladle therebetween. The system may include an elongated boom (3) that comprises of a first arm (4) and a second arm (6). The first arm may extend in the length direction, the one end of the first arm may be pivotally coupled to the support frame and other end opposite to the one end being slidably supported on the torpedo ladle. In addition, the other end of the first arm may be 10 provided with a support member (5). The support member may be slidably engageable with a guide member (9) defined on the torpedo ladle."
