MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521006285 A) filed by Gujarat Power Research And Development Cell, Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Jan. 25, 2025, for 'a system for dynamically managing voltage levels across a power distribution network and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Sakariya Hardik Mansukhbhai; Patel Jinnisbhai Vinodbhai; Prajapati Sanjaykumar Gandabhai; and Olakiya Dharmesh Kumar Shamjibhai.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system (100) and method for dynamically managing voltage levels across a power distribution network that comprising: a transformer (107) with an on-load tap changer (109) and a master controller unit (111). The plurality of smart sensors (115(1)-115(p)) positioned at monitoring points of power distribution network to capture real-time data. The plurality of IoT based communicable modems (117(1)-117(m)) transmitting sensor data to the master controller unit (111) which receives real-time data from the plurality of smart sensors (115(1)-115(p)), analyze the received data with network characteristics to determine an optimal tap position for the on-load tap changer (109), and issue a command to adjust the tap position of the transformer (107) to maintain voltage levels across the power distribution network. The system (100) enables dynamic voltage management through real-time monitoring and adjustment of voltage levels across the network."
