MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123666 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 8, 2025, for 'a system to safe corner a motorcycle on road curves.'
Inventor(s) include Dhayaanandan Saravanane; Annamalai K; and Sugumaran V.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system 100 to safe corner a motorcycle 102 on road curves 104 includes a wheel speed sensor 106; one or more control mechanisms 120; and a microcontroller 112 in communication with wheel speed sensor 106, the control mechanisms 120, and with Google maps 114, including a database, processing unit with one or more processors to receive real-time speed, tilt and acceleration of the motorcycle 102 through wheel speed sensor 106 and inertial measurement unit 108; receive real-time location data of the motorcycle 102 and upcoming road curvature data to determine radius of curvature using GPS 116 integrated with the Google maps 114; calculate maximum safe speed for road cornering the motorcycle 102; compare real-time speed, tilt and acceleration of the motorcycle 102 with calculated maximum safe speed tilt and acceleration; and adjust speed, tilt and acceleration through controlling the control mechanisms 120 before turning for safe cornering."
