MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641051373 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on April 22, for 'a three-dimensional (3d) bioprinting system and a method thereof for patient-specific tissues and organs.'

Inventor(s) include Shiva Prasad Shilagani; Dr. Ch. Rajendra Prasad; and Ponnaboina Charan Sai.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a three-dimensional bioprinting system (100) for fabrication of patient-specific tissue structures, the system (100) comprising a cell processing unit (102), a bioink preparation unit (114), a multi-nozzle bioprinting unit (116), a vascularization unit (118), a bioreactor unit (120), a plurality of sensors (126), a communication network (128), and a processing unit (130). The cell processing unit (102) is configured to obtain, isolate and culture patient-derived cells, and the bioink preparation unit (114) generates a cell-laden bioink. The multi-nozzle bioprinting unit (116) deposits the bioink to form a three-dimensional tissue structure, while the vascularization unit (118) forms vascular structures during deposition and the bioreactor unit (120) enables controlled maturation. The processing unit (130) comprises a data input module (132), a preprocessing module (134), an optimization module (136), a feedback module (138), a control module (140), and an output module (142)."
