MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124687 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'a tide adaptive underwater communication system and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a tide-adaptive underwater communication system (100). The system (100) may further include at least one sensor (120) selected from the list comprising pressure-based sensor, ultrasonic-based sensor and combination thereof, disposed external to the housing (110) and configured to detect the water level in real-time and generate corresponding water level data for inference of tide condition, an acoustic communication unit (130), an optical communication unit (140), a communication network (150) to enable seamless communication between the components of the system (100) and a microcontroller (160) disposed within the housing (110) and operably coupled to the sensor (120), the acoustic communication unit (130), and the optical communication unit (140) via the communication network (150) for adaptive communication control based on water level data."
