MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025736 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 5, for 'a token-rewarded exercise wheel system for motivated physiotherapy and activity in rodent models.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a token-rewarded exerctse wheel system compnsmg an exerctse wheel configured for voluntary locomotor activity by a rodent, a token generation or release mechanism operatively associated with the exercise wheel, a token dispenser, a token slot, and a food reward dispenser connected to a reward delivery tray. Rotation of the exercise wheel results in the release of one or more tokens, which are insertable into the token slot to activate the food reward dispenser. The system promotes motivated exercise, controlled activity engag~ment, and physiotherapy-assisted movement training in rodent models used for rehabilitation, neurological studies, and endurance assessment."
