MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511123312 A) filed by Nida Hasan; and Mohammad Ashraf, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on Dec. 7, 2025, for 'a transformable structural furniture assembly.'

Inventor(s) include Nida Hasan; and Mohammad Ashraf.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Accordingly, embodiments herein relate to a transformable structural furniture assembly designed to combine seating functionality with adaptable utility surfaces and storage. The assembly comprises a primary structural body defining a seating support portion and an internal storage volume, along with a planar utility member mounted via a pivoting assembly. This pivoting assembly allows the utility member to rotate between a substantially upright position and at least one substantially horizontal working position. One or more structural support members engage the utility member in its horizontal position to provide stable underlying support. The pivoting assembly features aligned apertures in both the primary structural body and utility member, with a fastening element passing through to define a rotational axis. Additionally, a load-transfer member can be positioned beneath the utility member in its horizontal orientation to enhance structural stability. This design enables multifunctional use while maintaining strength, versatility, and efficient space utilization."
