MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341063588 A) filed by Dr. Rajesh Gopal; and Dr. Anjana Ravindranath, Bangalore, Karnataka, on March 21, 2024, for 'a video intubation device for an endotracheal tube.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajesh Gopal; and Dr. Anjana Ravindranath.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a video intubation device (100) for an endotracheal tube, designed for patients requiring assisted breathing during surgery or emergency medical conditions. The device (100) includes an oxygen port (104/301) for continuous oxygen delivery, a flow sensor (304) to measure oxygen flow rate, and a pressure sensor (306) to monitor airway pressure variations. A control unit (308) analyzes data from these sensors to determine oxygen flow requirements, while a flow regulator (314) dynamically adjusts oxygen supply accordingly. The instant intubation device (100) shows a J-shaped tube structure with pre-curved sections (122-130) to facilitate optimal insertion and maneuverability. The invention ensures accurate endotracheal tube placement, obstruction-free oxygen delivery, and enhanced patient safety during intubation procedures."
