MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004421 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'accident prevention device for earthquake.'

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An accident prevention device for earthquake, comprises of an L-shaped structure 1 constructed with a first and second platform 3 positioned on a ground surface as a workstation, seismic sensors ranging from 4 to 6 in numbers configured on one of the platforms (2,3) for detecting an earthquake, an extendable sheet 12 configured with the second platform 3 to extend parallelly to the first platform 2, an air compressor 6 paired with an inflatable member 4 arranged over the plate 5 for inflating the member 4, a speaker mounted on one of the platforms (2,3) for notifying the user to sit over the member 4, a camera 7 mounted on the second platform 3 for capturing multiple images of surroundings, and a pair of motorized hinges 8 configured between the platforms (2,3) for tilting the first platform 2 towards the plate 5 to secure the user."
