MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611026802 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, New Delhi, on March 7, for 'acoustic metamaterial barrier.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The subject matter of the present invention discloses an acoustic metamaterial barrier(100), comprises of a base plate (120)configured to form a base structure of the acoustic metamaterial barrier (100); and plurality of unit cells (110) configured of a flower shaped structure embedded on an upper surface (122) of the base plate (120), in a pre-defined array. The acoustic metamaterial barrier (100) is manufactured by additive manufacturing process or other forming processes. The acoustic metamaterial barrier (100) is configured for sound attenuation at indoors as well as outdoors like parks, ground, residential neighborhoods, workplaces, stadiums and alike locations."
