MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006618 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'adaptable barricading device for railways.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Pradeep Gaur; Dr. Tarun Singhal; Dr. Rachin Goyal; Prateek Ranjan; Saumil Aggarwal; Piyush Bhatt; and Rishi Kakkar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable barricading device for railways comprises of an elongated frame 1 developed to be installed in proximity to a railway track for providing a barricade for track, an imaging unit 2 for determining presence of an animal/cattle/human in proximity to frame 1, a timer for monitoring time of detected presence of animal/cattle/human in proximity to frame 1, a vertical panel 3 having a pair of sliding units 4 that is assembled with a plate 5 suspended from panel 3 via a telescopically operated rod 6 that remain in partially deployed form by positioning plate 5 at mid length of panel 3 for forming a barricade to restrict entry in proximity to track, multiple gesture sensors for monitoring any unethical activities performed in proximity to frame 1 which is notified to a computing unit for alerting a concerned authority regarding monitored unethical activity."
