MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411004417 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'adaptable bathing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Manpreet Kaur.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable bathing assistive device comprising an elongated body 1 having a proximal 2 and distal end 3, the proximal 2 end is hold by a user for positioning the body 1 to the user's back portion, a microphone 4 installed on the proximal 2 end for receiving commands regarding directions on the user's back portion where scrubbing required, a linear actuator 5 installed on the body 1 to extend/retract the body 1, a telescopically operated rod 6 installed at the distal end 3 to extended/retracted for positioning multiple scrubbers 8 at the user-specified direction on the user's back, a motor integrated with the scrubbers 8 to rotate the scrubbers 8 in order to perform scrubbing over the user's back portion and a multi-sectioned container connected with a bristles 9 by means of multiple conduits integrated within the body 1 for dispensing a cleaning solution over the user's back portion."
