MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025487 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable brazing operation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Chamkaur Singh; Dr. Chhinder Kaur; Shubhanshu Tiwari; and Rahul Kumar Pathak.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable brazing operation assistive device comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface, plurality of suction cups 2 are installed underneath the platform 1 to adhere to the platform 1 for securing the platform 1 on the surface, an expandable U-shaped slot 3 installed on the platform 1 to expand/contract for enabling a user to accommodate a first metallic pipe in the slot 3, multiple suction units are installed on inner periphery of the slot 3 for securing the first pipe in the slot 3, an imaging unit 4 arranged on the platform 1 to determine dimensions of the pipe, an ultrasonic sensor to detect presence of a second metallic pipe that is to be joined on the first pipe and an electronically controlled nozzle 6 is embedded on the platform 1 for dispensing water on the joined part of the pipe to detect leakage."
