MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024906 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable corn-kernels roasting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable corn-kernels roasting assistive device comprise of plurality of suction cups 2 are arranged underneath the platform 1 for securing the platform 1, plurality of skewer rods 3 arranged on first frame enabling a user to accommodate maize, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on the platform 1 for capturing and processing images of the platform 1, plurality of heating coils 5 arranged underneath the rods to provide heat, a motorized ball and socket joint 6 integrated with the rod for providing rotating movement, plurality of expandable cylindrical members 7 arranged on the frame for increasing/decreasing dimensions of the member, a linear actuator 8 installed between rods and the first frame for providing pushing force, plurality of curved blades 9 arranged on inner periphery of the member to provide converging/diverging movement, a motorized flap 10 integrated on bottom of the member allowing the stripped kernels to get collected."
