MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024830 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable cutting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Parampal; Dr. Ramanpreet Kaur; Ayushi Rana; and Drishty.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable cutting assistive device, comprising a body 1 with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip on body 1, a touch interactive display panel 3 arranged on body 1 that enable the user for selecting a kind of material and pattern of cutting to be performed on material, a slot 5 integrated on distal end for engaging a blade, plurality of grooves 6 are integrated on the slot 5 for locking blade with slot 5, an imaging unit 4 installed on body 1 to determine dimensions of the surface, a laser emitter 7 is integrated at distal end to project a beam of laser light on surface over which blade required to position, a motor 8 linked with slot 5 to provide required movement to blade on surface in order to cut user-desired pattern on the surface."
