MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087699 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'adaptable dining assistive furniture.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Jamuna K. V.
The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable dining assistive furniture comprising a body 1 developed to be carried by a user for an outing, a chamber 2 arranged with the body 1 for storing multiple food items, a microphone 3 integrated on the body 1 for receiving voice commands of the user regarding required change in configuration of the body 1, a flap 4 arranged on lateral sides of the chamber 2, each by means of a motorized hinge joint 5 for deploying the flaps 4 perpendicular to the chamber 2, a lid 6 integrated on top portion of the chamber 2 via a pair of sliding unit 7 to open the chamber 2 for accessing stored food, and a slot 8 arranged on outer wall of the chamber 2 for holding a foldable chair that is accessed by the user to sit while dining on the body 1."
