MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011190 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'adaptable edible food items eating assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Radha Prasanna Dalai.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable edible food items eating assistive device, comprising a hollow cylindrical body 101 having a pair of L-shaped telescopic extensions positioned underneath the body 101 allowing a user to place an open packet containing food or edible items inside, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 103 installed on the cylindrical body 101 to determine the dimensions of the packet, multiple motorized clippers 104 integrated on the rod to acquire a grip on the inner portion of the packet, an expandable ring configured on the bottom portion of the body 101 to properly engage it on the body 101, a microphone 105 integrated on the body 101 allowing users to provide voice commands regarding the number of edible items they wish to consume from the packet and a hollow telescopic pole 201 configured on the apex of the body 101 positioning itself for precise retrieval."
