MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020761 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'adaptable edible salad preparation assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Pradeep Kumar Verma.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable edible salad preparation assistive device comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface, touch interactive display panel 2 arranged with the platform 1 for providing input regarding dimensions into which an edible item including fruit/vegetable is to be sliced, a horizontal rod 4 integrated with multiple pins for engaging an edible which is to be peeled or sliced, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed on the platform 1 to determine dimensions and shape of the engaged edible, telescopically operated bar 6 arranged on the platform 1 to extend/retract for positioning a plate, a horizontal blade integrated on end of the plate 7 on surface of the edible to remove peel of the edible and a motorized tweezer installed on the vertical support 3 for gripping and removing the seeds from the slice to prepare the slices for salad."
