MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411013499 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 24, 2024, for 'adaptable edible scooping device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable edible scooping device comprises of an elongated body 1 developed to be installed in proximity to a container from which an edible is to be scooped, an imaging unit 2 for determining dimensions of container, an extendable clamping unit 3 for acquiring a grip over mouth portion of container, a microphone 4 for receiving voice commands of a user, a telescopically operated L-shaped bar 5 connected with multiple motorized hinges 6 that tilts bar 5 to different angles to position a curved member 7 within container, a motorized pivot joint 8 to provide a scooping movement of member 7 around edible items, a suction unit 9 for engaging edible item on member 7, an extendable pusher 10 for disengaging edible item from member 7 into auxiliary utensil and a chamber 11 filled with water in order to clean and prepare member 7 for scooping out items."
